Inside Our First-Ever “Club Mama” Twitch Dance Party

To say we couldn’t wait to get back to having our members gather in our Silver Lake clubhouse the way we’d gotten used to a year and a half ago is a massive understatement. But on Friday, May 21st, we definitely made up for lost time by kicking off a brand new event series that will allow our members to let loose in an entirely new way: Our monthly '“Club Mama” dance parties.
Don’t get us wrong, we have a history of offering a safe place for mamas to unwind, connect, and have some kid-free fun, but our latest offering is unique in a few ways. Inspired by two of our members, recording artist Uffie and DJ Victoria Rawlins, who have a passion for making music for the masses, Club Mama occurs simultaneously in person (with vaccinated members at our LA hub) and digitally for those who can’t be there in body. The latter takes place via the Fashion Mamas Twitch channel — or as we’ve been calling it, “FMTV.”
Uffie and Victoria Rawlins, who took over the decks on Friday, will be monthly residents of the party, and they’ll be bringing in other musicians (primarily those who are also parents) to perform for future Club Mama nights. “I’ve been a music and nightlife enthusiast all my life, and have been lucky to amass an incredible community of artists and friends in that space,” says founder Natalie Alcala. “We’re all growing up and having children now, and instead of the party being over, I want to create a safe and supportive space for musician parents and fellow music lovers to keep the fun alive. I’m honored to partner with Uffie and Victoria Rawlins on our FMTV channel programming that includes our monthly Club Mama party, and we can’t wait to entertain parents across the globe.”
