Although there are tons of studios out there that claim to offer the ultimate post-baby body fitness program, how effective are they, really? I can wholeheartedly vouch for one workout that truly changed my life: Pure Barre. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently took on a PB challenge, vowing to attend Pure Barre Hollywood (my local studio) three times a week for three months straight. I'll be sharing my results and review here on FM Journal, but in the meantime I wanted to spread the news on what has always been my best-kept secret.

I attended Pure Barre multiple times a week with ease before my little one arrived and assumed that it would be just as easy to get right back on track once he was a couple weeks old. NOT SO MUCH. Being a new mom is crazy-hard and overwhelming, and the last thing you're worried about is your body. (But you best believe that I strapped on a girdle the second he was born to keep "things" in place — don't get it twisted!)

However, once you and your little angel start getting the hang of infant life, and your maternity leave clock starts ticking, it's totally normal and not selfish at all to finally step in front of that mirror, throw your hair up in a bun, and take care of YOU so you can be the best version of yourself for THEM. That's where Pure Barre steps in.

About one month after Diego was born (September 2014), I hit the barre for the first time in a long time, knowing that PB is the safest workout to do post-baby because of its super low-impact exercises. Keeping up with those tiny isometric moves were challenging AF at first, but I really felt euphoric afterwards and ready for the world. It helps that the PB team is incredibly nurturing. And although they don't mess around when it's time to lift-tone-burn on the barre, you never, ever feel like you're in a serious bootcamp where you're afraid to speak up or ask for help. The team is really there to assist you in meeting your goals within a positive and effective environment.

If you're a new (or seasoned!) mom thinking of getting back in the swing of sweating, or are a mama-to-be that likes to plan way ahead, consider Pure Barre and their rad Baby Bounce Back package. It's $375 for three months unlimited, and the confidence you'll regain after the program is priceless. Let me know how it goes!
