When Naima Petz isn't documenting her family's journey as full time travelers over at Joy Chasers or running the social media department of her husband's advertising agency, she's following her true passion as an activist for birthing persons rights (particularly home birth), exposing/preventing/healing birth related trauma, improving maternal and fetal outcomes for POC, supporting minority and indigenous midwives, and healthcare as a human right (especially within indigenous, marginalized and undocumented communities).

Her personal background is that of a first-generation American of Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, and European descent. Growing up in a family of vegetarian Hindus, Naima moved every year or two due to her father's schooling and career, which made fitting into a particular community difficult and later contributed greatly to the choice to raise her children kids as third culture kids. She learned early on to build communities on her own, a skill she is still benefitting from today.
