“At the end of a long day for all of us — school and work — the most rewarding thing is to hear ‘I love you’.”

WHAT DO YOU DO AND WHAT LED YOU TO THIS CAREER?

I am the founder of Skinesque, a clean and approachable Korean skincare line. From working as a corporate attorney to becoming a mom of two, I created Skinesque to meet a market I personally needed: Dependable skincare that is affordable, clean, and effective. On top of that it had to be easy to travel with. Wellness, self-care, and setting aside time to look and feel your best became a mantra at our office and a huge driving force behind our product development.

WHAT ARE THE NAMES AND AGES OF YOUR CHILDREN?

Juliet Ra, 8, and Ethan Ra, 5.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CAREER ACHIEVEMENT THUS FAR?

One of my biggest career achievement was taking the leap from the practice of law and starting Skinesque to follow my true passion.

WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING ASPECT OF BEING A MOTHER?

I love coming home to my kids everyday after work. At the end of a long day for all of us — school and work — the most rewarding thing is to hear ‘I love you.’

AND WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING?

The most challenging is time management and juggling motherhood and start up life.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR SOMEONE NEW TO YOUR INDUSTRY?

For anyone interested in entering the skincare industry, it is very important to choose your factories and manufacturers wisely — even more so if they are located internationally.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR A NEW MOTHER?

It's okay to feel overwhelmed. A lot of people feel that way, even though they may not talk about it. And it definitely helps to have a fellow mama friend or two you can share laughs and tears with.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR YOU? DO YOU HAVE ANY EXCITING PROJECTS COMING UP?

Skinesque just launched our Wake Up & Makeup Prep Sheet Mask. We now have a full skincare line that we are continually sharing with our community. For 2020, we are working on growing our retail footprint. As for our social commitment, we will always continue to support Club 21, an organization that provides tools that enable individuals with Down syndrome to be fully included.
