Meet Shennel Fuller: LA Mama and Founder of Miles and Milan
“Stick with it through the good times and bad and you will see the fruits of your labor.”
What do you do and what led you to this career?
I am the Founder and CEO of Miles and Milan. I was a Converse, Levi’s, and 7 for all Mankind retail executive, but went on to start Miles and Milan soon after the birth of my first son after seeing a gap in the industry for gender neutral basics.
What are the names and ages of your children?
Jackson, who is 4 years old; and Quincy, who is 18 Months old.
What has been your biggest career achievement thus far?
My customer response makes me proud because you put yourself out there and you have no idea how it's going to be received. My company’s repeat business is incredibly strong, and that makes my heart sing to know that it’s being received exactly how I dreamt it to be.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a mother?
Experiencing the world through their eyes.
And what is the most challenging?
Time! There’s never enough.
What is your best advice for someone new to your industry?
Don’t let fear be your road block! Hard work pays off and starting a business is hard AF. Stick with it through the good times and bad and you will see the fruits of your labor.
What is your best advice for a new mother?
They grow up so quickly.... Let them be kids. Be silly, crazy, and enjoy the chaos
What's next for you? Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
Continuing to build the brand and develop the community. There will be a Jack and Quinn ( inspired by my children) collection coming soon.
