“My industry is a rather new one so I'm learning as I go - but it’s important to be authentic!”

What do you do and what led you to this career?

I knew after having my son, Britt, that I had found my calling. Unfulfilled in my previous life as a marketer, I knew I wanted to support new families in a meaningful way. I found out I was pregnant towards the end of business school and was immediately consumed with finding the right baby products for my family. I found myself going down these online rabbit holes spending a ton of time Googling, trying to make sense of Amazon reviews, and asking friends for advice - all with different opinions, of course! Not only was it overwhelming and time consuming, but I felt more confused than ever. The idea that most people worked all day and then had to come home and spend hours online researching and learning about what they need was not the best use of time, and I thought that there had to be an easier way. I figured if people used wedding planners, then why wouldn't they use a baby planner?! So Bump Bestie was born. Bump Bestie is a modern baby planning service for the busy parent. Offering families trusted advice in navigating the overwhelming world of all things baby, I'm on a mission to redefine baby prep by taking a holistic approach combining baby registry curation, education, and integrative wellness resources saving parents time and money while providing peace of mind. I feel truly blessed that my journey to motherhood has led to my passion supporting parents and has allowed me to pursue meaningful work making even a small difference in the most important event of a family’s life.

What are the names and ages of your children?

Britton, who will be 3 at the end of January!

What has been your biggest career achievement thus far?

Finding my passion! Before becoming a mother, I had a successful career that I wasn't passionate or inspired by. I started my business out of a personal pain point and am thrilled to have found something within a space that I'm excited to wake up and do and that fuels me on a daily basis.

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a mother?

I've experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows as a mother. I think the most rewarding aspect has been the soul searching that I've done for myself and just trying to be the best person I can be for my son and those around me.

And what is the most challenging?

Selfishly lol - being a mother means I've sacrificed autonomy and spontaneity. I miss the freedom occasionally to just get up and do, to be social or to just hop in the car and go on a trip last second.

What is your best advice for someone new to your industry?

My industry is a rather new one so I'm learning as I go - but to be authentic! I pride myself on providing a personalized service so you really need to know your shit!

What is your best advice for a new mother?

Anticipate your needs to the best of your ability beforehand - there is so much focus for the postpartum phase and at that point, you're depleted. The more you can put things in place before the big day, the better so that it's less of a shit show.

What's next for you? Do you have any exciting projects coming up?

I'm super excited about my Bump Bestie for Business initiative - working with employers to offer my services as a company benefit as well as continuing my events and workshops around LA and ideally in other markets as well!
