Meet Kristiana Tarnuzzer: LA Mama and Founder of The Cause Bar
“Don't ever feel that one small act of doing good is insignificant.”
What do you do and what led you to this career?
Last year, I founded The Cause Bar when I identified a gap in the market for people like me (a busy mom) looking to do good. After hours and days spent searching, I often found myself at a loss of feeling connected, educated, and inspired on ways to live a more social and good lifestyle....so I created it. The Cause Bar is a destination highlighting forward-thinking, cause-related organizations, brands, events, and change makers all pointing towards positive impact.
What are the names and ages of your children?
Luka , who is 5 years old, and Kosette, who is 2 years old.
What has been your biggest career achievement thus far?
Launching my passion project, turned full-time business, The Cause Bar.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a mother?
Watching these tiny humans form into their own unique personalities - strong, funny (and brutally honest) - while doing my best to teach them empathy and understanding of the causes I support, and work I do.
And what is the most challenging?
Trying not to laugh when they do something bad, but really, really funny.
What is your best advice for someone new to your industry?
Don't ever feel that one small act of doing good is insignificant.
What is your best advice for a new mother?
Get rid of the guilt! We are much better moms when we don’t feel guilty about taking the necessary time-out and care for ourselves.
What's next for you? Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
Continuing to layer onto The Cause Bar online and offline experiences for our community of change-makers, and the nonprofit organizations and positive impact brands we support. Lots of creating happening right now!
