“Intern and work for as many people as possible — reach out to people you want to work with and make it happen.”

WHAT DO YOU DO AND WHAT LED YOU TO THIS CAREER?

I’m a fashion stylist. I was going to school in San Francisco for fashion and a friend had just moved from NYC, working at Jane magazine. He thought I would like styling so I started assisting them. Then I moved to LA and worked with Harpers, Marie Claire, and more as a West Coast assistant and eventually took on my own jobs.

WHAT ARE THE NAMES AND AGES OF YOUR CHILDREN?

Willie, who just turned a year old.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CAREER ACHIEVEMENT THUS FAR?

Not one specific moment sticks out, but certain clients are great and traveling for work is always fun. I’d say it changes and gets better every year.

WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING ASPECT OF BEING A MOTHER?

I’m still figuring it out! It’s pretty crazy to think I had a child. Seeing her change and become more interactive is my favorite part. Watching her nutty personality develop and seeing her try to figure out how things work is the sweetest.

AND WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING?

Easy: The crying and trying to figure out whats wrong. She’s still too little to vocalize it, so it’s tough. Plus balancing both her and my crazy schedule; It feels like it’s just work and being a mom — there’s no more in-between chill time.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR SOMEONE NEW TO YOUR INDUSTRY?

Intern and work for as many people as possible! Reach out to people you want to work with and make it happen. And be nice to PR people — you need them more than they need you !

WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR A NEW MOTHER?

Take all the help anyone offers — you'll need it!

WHAT'S NEXT FOR YOU? DO YOU HAVE ANY EXCITING PROJECTS COMING UP?

Can’t talk about it just yet!
