Photos: Inside Mamas Making It Summit 2019
Following year one and year two, Fashion Mamas hosted its third Mamas Making It Summit on Saturday, June 8 at WeWork Gas Tower’s gorgeous Break Room in Downtown Los Angeles. #MamasMakingItSummit is an immersive conference for working women (specifically mothers), which offers a day of productive networking and career self-care, jam-packed with exclusive talks and experiences that aim to inspire attendees to take their businesses to the next level. This year’s sold-out show welcome 130 incredible women, 22 brilliant speakers and mentors, 10 hands-only activations, and hundreds of inspirational takeaways.
“It’s a myth that women have to choose between having a successful career or being a good mother,” says Natalie Alcala, founder and CEO of Fashion Mamas. “You can absolutely do both, and our annual summit shines a light on leading mamas who are unapologetically making it happen.”
Some of the influential women who spoke at Mamas Making It Summit 2019 included actress, host, and author Tiffani Thiessen, actress and head of creative at Bumble Sara Foster, ThirdLove co-founder Heidi Zak, Parachute founder Ariel Kaye, Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior, Erica Domesek of P.S. Hands-on experiences included a complimentary headshot studio by Katee Grace, a Mama Lounge offering mini massages by the founders of Drybar’s new wellness venture Squeeze, footwear gifting by Reef, a Mama Lounge with nutritional consultations and incredible treats by Bumpin Blends, a Wellness Concierge by cannabis brand Dosist, custom bra-fittings with ThirdLove (for VIP ticket-holders), financial and crowdfunding consultations with iFundWomen, eCommerce tips and tricks with Shopify, web and social media content critiques with marketing pros Sylvie Esmundo and Ilana Saul. Food and drinks were provided by Todo Verde, Califia Farms, Boxed Water, and Bumpin Blends, and there was even two big raffle giveaways: a SNOO Smart Sleeper by Happiest Baby, and signed copies of Tiffani Thiessen’s cookbook and children’s book!
Our stage backdrop and photo moment installation was also a major hit — thanks to the genius work of Corrie Sullivan of Corrie In Color. Prettying up each activation booth were florals by The Bouqs Co., and Love This Way for the “WORK” light-up letters.
