Kids Fashion Fair Pop-Up Vendor Spotlight: MINI X
LA's first Fashion Mamas x Kids Fashion Fair pop-up shop officially opens at Platform Culver City on December 1st! To celebrate, over the next few days we're shining a light on the amazing brands that you'll be able to shop at our five-day concept space.
MINI X makes the type of fashion that instantly evokes happiness. From its vibrant colors to its too-cool graphics, this San Francisco-based gem is a magnet for pint-sized style stars and has been seen on tons of mini influencers across the globe. Here, founder and creative director (and FMSF member!) Emily Wassall tells us more about her exciting brand.
What inspired you to launch MINI X and what were you doing before it?
After launching our online kids store, MINI X STYLE, we were inspired to create our own brand label. I wanted to design a brand that is brave, bold and pop, and that pushes the boundaries in kids print. Previous to working in the kids space I was the Art Editor at NET-A-PORTER.COM in London and I also have my own Creative Design studio called EW Studios, in LA.
Capture the essence of your brand in one sentence:
Bold, pop designs inspired by Los Angeles, our clothes encourage kids to stand out from the crowd and be confident in their own selves.
What is your favorite piece in your collection right now?
Our Dallas Clayton collab was a dream come true! He is one of my fave artists and such a cool guy to work with. The Star Leggings are perfect for brightening up the day.
Who is your dream client?
Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things!
If your brand was a song, what song would it be?
"Hearts On Fire" by Cut Copy
