On Sunday, March 19, 2023, Fashion Mamas hosted its 7th annual Mamas Making It Summit — LA's coolest conference and celebration for creative mothers! It all took place at Second Home Hollywood — LA's densest urban forest, featuring a 50,000 square foot garden with over 6,500 trees and plants. Fun fact: this was the location of our 2020 summit right before the world shut down. We were so glad to be back in our favorite venue under better circumstances.

In addition to inspiring panels, our summit also featured one-on-one mentor sessions, the debut of our FM Art Collective, tons of incredible brand booths and gifting, a delicious food and beverage station, a photobooth for fun group shots, and a kids playspace with supervised childcare by The Nanny League. We welcomed more than 100 inspiring mamas and little ones this year, all in the house to take in a day filled with inspiring conversations and meaningful connections.

One major takeaway from our talks included that fact that self-care is essential to keep mama recharged throughout the day — however, self-care looks many different ways, whether it's time-blocking as suggested by our Opening Keynote Rocky Barnes or a streamlined skincare routine like Beauty x Motherhood panelist  Brooke DeVard Ozaydinli or taking a walk outside like Community Is Everything panelist Evelynn Escobar

For all the potential brand partners out there, another thing to note about mothers who are also creators is that their time is not only limited, but it's sacred. The experience of becoming a mother unlocks a new level of efficiency and boundaries, narrowing down what really matters and what is no longer worth your time and energy. With that said, many of the mamas — from Curating Your Career panelists Valerie Metz, Sophie Jaffe, and Puno to Community Is Everything panelist Jeannette Aranda — stressed the importance of researching a creator's unique point of view and social media presence before pitching them a potential partnership. Also essential is to understand that once you hire a mama creator, their task is to create content that resonates with their individual audiences — not to convert sales. (But it's always a cherry on top, of course!)

Words of wisdom were plentiful that day, which everyone in that special room experienced. One thing we all know for sure is that Community truly is everything, and behind every mother is a support system and inner circle who helps her make it happen. You're not alone, mama — we promise you that. If you ever feel alone, send us a DM and we'll help you navigate through some resources. And of course, we welcome you to join our family at your pace, when you're ready.

Cheers to another successful summit, and stay tuned for our next one this year, taking place in NEW YORK CITY! Yes, it's all happening.
