Despite being a Luddite at times (no iPad for my little one...for now), I'm also a major gadget geek. Any WiFi- or Bluetooth-friendly accessory is welcome in my home, and an app-controlled smart light bulb has been known to incite extreme enthusiasm our household. Among the devices that gave my husband and I peace of mind as new parents is a web-connected nursery cam, specifically, Logitech's Circle camera.

The tech company recently released the Circle 2 ($180 to $200), the latest version of its sleek home security camera. What I loved about the first version was that I could monitor our son from virtually anywhere: From the backyard during nap time, while out running errands (as the nanny held down the fort, obvi), and at night from our own bedroom during those excruciating sleep training sessions. The new cam does all of that and more: In addition to allowing users to save notable "moments" (we now have video of the first time our son stood up in his crib) and sending movement or sound activity alerts, the Circle 2 is now available in a wireless option and can be used outdoors.

Other features that techie parents will appreciate include Alexa compatibility, 1080p HD streaming, a 180-degree wide-angle lens, and 24 hours of free cloud storage so you can review any moments that you might have missed throughout the day. Not tech-savvy? The Circle 2 is incredibly easy to set up — if you can connect to a WiFi network on your iPhone, this will be a cinch.

Now that my husband and are I welcoming baby #2 this fall, you can bet we'll be upgrading to the latest version of Logitech's Circle camera (and using our old one to keep tabs on the living room play corner). You can buy it online at their website here.
