Meet Juri Sasaki: NY Mama and Merchandising Director
“Have a clear vision of who you are and what you want to become.”
What do you do and what led you to this career?
I am a merchandiser. My father was in the fashion industry and I grew up hanging out in his office space looking at factories. It was very natural for me to chose this path.
What is the name and age of your little one?
Zen, who is 7 years old.
What has been your biggest career achievement thus far?
Moving to the United States and being where I am today, from a local region to a global HQ.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a mother?
To gain further understanding of pure unconditional love. I never understood the extent of what my parents went through, and appreciate who I am today.
And what is the most challenging?
Managing time! 24 hours is simply not enough.
What is your best advice for someone new to your industry?
Have a clear vision of who you are and what you want to become. This industry moves so quickly, and sometimes it can be consuming. It’s very important to continue to have a vision.
What is your best advice for a new mother?
Everything is possible if you open up for help and plan ahead. At the same time, understand that no one is perfect, and let yourself know that’s okay!
What's next for you? Do you have an exciting projects coming up?
